2012 Fledgling, practicing short flights

Getting ready - Osprey youngster

Heading off, as part of developing flying skills...

to fly a short loop

A few days later... one of the fledglings has flown several docks to the north

Meanwhile, its sibling approaches from the southeast

and looks like it wants to grab "prey"

and pulls up at the last moment (as if to say "tag, you're it")

and becomes interested in something below...

which is unfortunately out of my sight

Fighting over fish -- a few moments before, the lower osprey was chomping, in the nest, on the fish brought by their mom. Then its sibling grabbed made a successful grab for the fish and flew to a nearby perch to eat, alone.
